Research Nurse of the Year

| This category benefits from a bursary scheme to enable research nurses to take part, and Sean thanked the many organisations who contributed to this. Susan Ollier, Chair of ICR, then took the stage to present the award. She said that she deals with study sites every day, and thus she knows the detailed and varied demands made on research nurses. Although there can only be one winner, she congratulated all of them. She presented the Pharma award to Maria Espasandin of Bart’s & the London NHS Trust. Maria said that she was “set up” to enter, and never thought she’d win. She highlighted the importance and difficulty of getting doctors involved in studies, along with patients. |
